Meet The Doctor Mark Eskey
Dr. Simon Oh, DDS FICOI
Dr. Simon Oh grew up in Maryland where he received his Bachelors of Science at the University of Maryland – College Park in Physiology and Neurobiology. He then graduated with honors at the University of Maryland Dental School, where he achieved the highest national board scores in his class. He was a member of several honors societies, including the OKU honors society, and won many scholarships for academic and clinical achievement. Dr. Oh was also the lead guitar player of his band, InciDental.
After finishing his dental education, Dr. Oh furthered his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Here he received extensive inpatient and outpatient training in conditions ranging from impacted wisdom teeth and dental implants, to major facial reconstructive surgery. Dr. Oh is also a published author in the Journal of Maxillofacial Trauma.
Today, Dr. Oh serves as Chief Clinical Officer and Chief of Implantology of Capstone Dental Group and Dental Health Associates, overlooking clinical operations of over 100 dentists and dental specialists. As a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr Oh has special interest in dental implant surgery, the All-on-X full mouth reconstruction concept, zygomatic implants, teeth in one day, and bone regeneration. With Dr Oh’s unique skill set acquired from training around the world, he leaves no patients behind, even if they have “no bone.”
In addition to being voted by his fellow dentists as Top Dentist in Philadelphia Magazine in 2019 and 2020, Dr Oh has also been selected as one of the top 40 dentists under 40 in the United States by Incisal Edge Magazine in 2020 for his clinical skills, involvement in education, and leadership in the dental field.
Dr Oh lectures, mentors, and trains doctors, nationally and internationally, on implant surgery on a regular basis for many different implant companies. He focuses on delivering the highest quality, empathetic care to his patients, in the most pain-free manner possible. Dr. Oh enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with his wife Sophie, son Cameron, daughter Claire, and their two dogs, Max and Mandi.
Dr. Alex Benner, DMD FICOI
Dr. Alex Benner, voted one of Philly’s Top Dentists, graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Science-Business and Chinese. He earned his DMD from Temple University, where he was awarded a scholarship for scholastic achievement and served as president of his class. Interestingly, he lived a number of years in China and graduated high school from the International School of Beijing.
Dr. Benner furthered his dental education at Jefferson Health – Abington Hospital, one of the country’s foremost residency programs. There he gained extensive experience in treating medically compromised patients, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and complete oral rehabilitation cases. Because of his work in the field of dental implants, he has been awarded as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Benner is a Pankey Institute and Dawson Academy trained dentist, which means he has spent time extensively studying how to properly rehabilitate the mouth. He successfully creates prosthetics that will not only be beautiful, but will also be comfortable and long-lasting by designing a harmonious relationship between your facial bones, muscles, and new smile.
On a personal note, Dr. Benner, his wife, Charlene, and step-daughter, Ianeli, enjoy hiking and camping, playing tennis, and cooking. He enjoys coaching and mentoring a middle school boys’ rowing program in faith, discipline, and excellence. When he gets the chance, he also sneaks out on motorcycle rides whenever possible.
Dr. Jaron Theis, DMD FICOI
Dr. Jaron Theis was raised in Williamsport, PA where he attended Lycoming College, graduating with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Theis grew up with a love for art developed by his mother, an acrylic portrait artist. Being able to combine his passion for art and science led him to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Theis graduated Temple Kornberg School of Dentistry, receiving his DMD degree.
Dr. Theis prides himself on treating his patients like family and providing them the highest quality of care. He enjoys changing fearful patient’s outlook on dentistry by providing near painless injections and making them understand they are in control of the experience. Dr. Theis takes a wide variety of continuing education courses, focusing on cosmetic dentistry and dental implants, in order to provide his patients with the most up to date clinical techniques and technology in the field of dentistry. He strongly believes patient education and arming his patients with individualized oral hygiene instructions are one of his most important jobs. Don’t like string floss? Get ready to hear about the almighty flosser!
Dr. Theis currently lives in Philadelphia with his wife who is a pediatric dental resident. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family, kayaking, golfing, and as a foodie, trying new restaurants. Dr. Theis loves football and although he is a 49ers fan, he has grown to love watching the Eagles win after living in the Philadelphia area.
Dr. Gina Chen, DDS
Dr. Gina Chen is Dentist Anesthesiologist at Advanced Dental Anesthesia Services of Pennsylvania. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). Afterwards, she completed a postdoctoral anesthesia residency at SUNY Stony Brook University Medical Center. Her anesthesiology training included medical rotations in various specialties of medicine such as Pediatric Medicine, Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Critical Care in multiple venues including Operating Rooms, the Dental School, VA Medical Center, PACU, Stony Brook ASC and even private offices. Her training specialized in providing general and specialty anesthesia in the inpatient, outpatient, and office-based settings to the general adult population along with pediatric, special needs, and geriatric patients. Additionally, her training provided a very special emphasis in the treatment of patients with special needs, i.e., patients with autism and the developmentally disabled.
Dr. Chen is a compassionate provider who enjoys working with the special needs population. So much so, that she often presents lectures on Anesthesia Considerations for Special Needs Population to help other Dental Professionals. Dr. Chen prides herself on the amount of cases she was called in to assist when patients were in critical conditions, all while still in training!
She is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and American Dental Association. She holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
